Intermountain Consumer Professional Engineers (ICPE), a U.S. company providing mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering and design services, needed to design a facility in Vancouver, Washington to deliver crude oil to U.S. refineries.

With strict environmental and energy regulations, the project faced a long approval process involving extensive reviews and revisions. ICPE needed to ramp-up quickly so they decided to use CADWorx on BricsCAD platform. By doing so, they had to develop material take-offs for estimates and evaluate alternative site layouts to deliver material savings and balance costs with efficient operations.

Using CADWorx, ICPE improved internal processes without increasing staff. The team was able to eliminate incorrect and inconsistent data between pipe specifications and 3D models and help save an estimated of 960 man-hours.

ICPE received the 2017 CADWorx Drivers of Success Runner-up Award for its use of the software. The annual Drivers of Success competition recognizes innovative applications of Hexagon PPM products, impressive project results, and significant benefits from collaboration among disciplines and the integration of the products.
