This course provides new AutoCAD users an understanding of the software’s core functionality and features so that they can create, edit, and organize their first drawing. Users will have a solid grounding in the software so that they can immediately be productive using AutoCAD.

Revit Architecture (IGT-ARA)

The Autodesk® Revit® Architecture software is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way Architects think. From Preliminary Design through Design Development, and into Construction Documents, the program streamlines the design process with a central 3D model. Changes made in one view update across all views and on the printable sheets. This training is designed to teach you the Autodesk Revit functionality as you would work with it in the design process. You begin by learning about the user interface and the Autodesk Revit commands for design development followed by those available for construction documentation.

Since building projects themselves tend to be extremely complex, the Autodesk Revit Architecture software is also complex. The objective of the Autodesk Revit Architecture Fundamentals training is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. This training focuses on basic tools that the majority of students need to work with the Autodesk Revit Architecture software.

Despite the volume of content available within Autodesk’s Revit product suite, there exists a need to generate additional content to allow buildings to be modeled and documented correctly. In this 1-day class, you will be introduced to the tools and techniques needed for efficient and effective Family creation that can be applied in Autodesk Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, or Revit MEP. Students will learn how to set up the framework for a variety of different family types and then apply appropriate 2D or 3D geometry to that framework. This knowledge can then be applied to individual projects and throughout your entire company to provide optimized, quality Revit Families

AutoCAD Architecture:

In addition to the standard AutoCAD® software tools, the AutoCAD® Architecture software offers a host of features that greatly increase the speed and efficiency of architectural drawings. The software is designed to work from first concept (conceptual design or mass model) through to design development, working drawings, and facility maintenance.

AutoCAD® Architecture Fundamentals focuses on the design development, construction documentation, and visualization features of the AutoCAD Architecture software (the basic tools that the majority of students require when working).

To meet the needs of different students, we have divided the training materials for this complex application into two courses. AutoCAD Architecture Fundamentals focuses on the design development and construction documentation features of AutoCAD Architecture—the basic tools that the majority of students will need in their work. AutoCAD Architecture Advanced focuses on conceptual design in the sense of massing studies and space planning, as well as several more advanced features for greater control over the program.

The AutoCAD Architecture Advanced class is intended primarily for architects and other advanced students who need the ability to design massing studies or space studies, or to customize settings in the AutoCAD Architecture environment.


To take full advantage of Building Information Modeling, the Autodesk® Revit® MEP Fundamentals training has been designed to teach the concepts and principles of creating 3D parametric models of MEP system from engineering design through construction documentation. The training is intended to introduce students to the software’s user interface and the basic HVAC, electrical, and piping/plumbing components that make Revit MEP a powerful and flexible engineering modeling tool. The objective is to familiarize students with the tools necessary to create, document, and print the parametric model. The examples and practices are designed to take you through the basics of a full Revit MEP project, from linking in an architectural model to construction documents.

Autodesk Navisworks (IGT-ANW)

The Autodesk® Navisworks® Essentials course instructs students in best approaches to combine 3D geometry from cross disciplines into one scene to enable effective model reviews. Through a hands-on, practice-intensive curriculum, students acquire the knowledge needed to review and markup the model, use TimeLiner, Animator, Scripter, and Presenter, as well as the Clash Detective tools within Autodesk Navisworks.

Using the functionality of the Autodesk® Navisworks® Review, Simulate, and Manage features, students learn how to open, review, and run object-interference checks on 3D models. Students also learn how to link to task-scheduling files and create 4D construction simulations. Using the Animator and Scripter tools, students create interactive animations. In addition, students learn how the Presenter tools can help them create photorealistic images and animations.
